Livefarm.
Connecting farmers, soil samplers, laboratories, and advisors in one agricultural SaaS platform.
A connected workflow for the people behind better farming decisions.
The challenge
Livefarm brings farmers, soil samplers, laboratories, and agricultural advisors into one platform. The product needed a full legacy-to-SaaS rebuild while existing customers continued to use the live application.
My contribution
As Lead Web Developer, I led four developers, owned the architecture and technical roadmap, and supported the team through code reviews and mentoring. I designed and built the new Laravel backend API and contributed to the React SPA and UI/UX direction.
- Map-based farm plot and zone management, satellite imagery, and soil-testing integration.
- Fertilizer and nitrogen planning, Stripe subscriptions, and fine-grained permissions.
- MySQL normalisation, composite indexes, query rewrites, and Redis caching to address scalability bottlenecks.
- GitHub Actions, visual regression with Chromatic, and blue-green AWS CodeDeploy releases.
- Kubernetes and Terraform infrastructure, CloudFront delivery, and CloudWatch/Rollbar observability.
- Web and mobile synchronisation through managed RabbitMQ.
The result
A coordinated rebuild with continued delivery on the legacy Laravel/Vue/Inertia application, reduced slow-query incidents, and an automated production delivery pipeline.
